Call for Papers: Special Issue 2026

JPTP is pleased to announce a Call for Papers for a Special Issue on "Advances in Digital Assessment and Adaptive Testing". We invite researchers to submit original manuscripts exploring innovative approaches in computerized testing, item response theory applications, and psychometric validation of digital assessment tools.

Submission Deadline: March 31, 2026

Guest Editors: Dr. Sarah Johnson & Dr. Michael Chen

Expected Publication: September 2026

Article Submission Requirements

JPTP accepts original research articles, review articles, and methodological papers in the field of psychological testing and psychometrics. All submissions must meet the following requirements:

General Requirements:

  • Original and unpublished work not under consideration elsewhere
  • Written in English with clear, concise language
  • Length: 5,000-8,000 words (excluding references and appendices)
  • Abstract: 150-250 words with 4-6 keywords
  • Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or LaTeX
  • Reference style: APA 7th Edition
  • Figures and tables must be high quality (minimum 300 DPI)

Manuscript Structure:

Title Page: Title, authors, affiliations, corresponding author

Abstract: Background, methods, results, conclusions

Introduction: Context and research objectives

Methods: Design, participants, instruments, procedures

Results: Statistical analyses and findings

Discussion: Interpretation and implications

References: APA 7th Edition format

Appendices: Supplementary materials (if any)

Ethical Requirements:

  • Ethical approval from institutional review board (IRB) when applicable
  • Informed consent from all participants
  • Declaration of conflicts of interest
  • Data availability statement
  • Funding sources and acknowledgments

How to Submit Your Article

Follow these simple steps to submit your manuscript to JPTP. Our online submission system makes the process easy and efficient.

Create an Account

Register on our online submission portal. Click "Register" and fill in your details including name, email, affiliation, and ORCID iD (if available).

Prepare Your Manuscript

Ensure your manuscript meets all requirements. Prepare separate files for: main manuscript (blinded), title page with author information, figures, tables, and supplementary materials.

Start New Submission

Log in to your account and click "New Submission". Select article type (Research Article, Review Article, or Methodological Paper) and follow the submission wizard.

Upload Files & Complete Details

Upload all files, enter title, abstract, keywords, author contributions, funding information, and suggested reviewers (optional but recommended).

Review & Submit

Review all information carefully. Confirm you agree to the publication terms and conditions. Click "Submit" to complete your submission. You will receive a confirmation email with manuscript ID.

Article Withdrawal Procedure

Authors have the right to withdraw their manuscript at any stage before publication. However, we request that withdrawals be made only for valid reasons. Please follow the procedure below:

Withdrawal Process:

Step 1: Send Withdrawal Request

The corresponding author must send an official withdrawal request via email to editorial@jptp.org with the manuscript ID in the subject line.

Step 2: Provide Required Information

Include the following in your withdrawal letter:

  • Manuscript ID and title
  • Names of all co-authors
  • Clear reason for withdrawal
  • Confirmation that all co-authors agree to withdraw
Step 3: Co-Author Consent

If there are multiple authors, attach a signed letter or email confirmation from all co-authors agreeing to the withdrawal.

Step 4: Editor Review

The editorial office will review your request within 3-5 business days. You will receive confirmation once the withdrawal is processed.

Valid Reasons for Withdrawal:

  • Discovery of a major methodological error
  • Data integrity concerns or errors
  • Co-author disputes or lack of consent
  • Duplicate submission discovered
  • Change in research direction or findings
  • Ethical concerns with the study

Important Notes:

  • Withdrawals after acceptance may incur publication fees if production has started
  • Frequent withdrawals may affect future submission considerations
  • Once published, articles cannot be withdrawn - only retracted following formal procedures
  • Reviewers will be notified of the withdrawal
